Paul Cottell Chairman |
Hello Friends,
As my first Job, let me on behalf of
the committee and myself, welcome you all to this our 41st year
of the Torbay Sea Angling Festival.
Due to a change in Torbay Council
format a couple of years ago, we have lost the serving Mayor as our
President. The committee has decided we would elect our own; someone,
who has given outstanding service to angling and our festival. It
gives me great pleasure to welcome our first elected president, Mr Jim Laing
and thank you for all your hard work. It is going to be a hard act to
follow.
I have the pleasure to welcome Abu
Garcia (UK) Ltd, who have yet again agreed to continue as our main sponsor.
Abu have again provided us with a fabulous array of prizes.
We have had to increase the entry
fee slightly to help cover the cost and to keep the standard of prizes high.
The entry is now £30.00 for the full nine days of the festival. Daily
entry stays the same at £5 for adults and £4 per day for Junior anglers.
There is concern that some people do
not fully understand the festival rules, so please read them.
Help in understanding Rule 6H
NO PERSON WHO HAS
SIGNED ON TO COMPETE IN THE TORBAY SEA ANGLING FESTIVAL SHALL SELL ANY FISH
CAUGHT DURING THE EVENT, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THEY ARE WEIGHED IN OR NOT.
Once again we must thank Torbay
Council for our Presentation Evening, which will be held at Hoburne Torbay,
Grange Court, Grange Road, Goodrington, Paignton, on Saturday,
October 4th. We need to see all of you there to make it a
successful evening.
All it takes now, is for me, on
behalf of myself and your hard working committee, to wish you good weather
and great catches in this year’s Festival and to see you all on the winners
list.
Tight Lines and good luck
